Release/Expenditure by Government of India under Namami Gange Programme from 2014-15 to 2018-19

Namami Gange Programme (NGP) is an Integrated Conservation Mission, approved as ‘Flagship Programme’ by the Union Government in June 2014 to accomplish the twin objectives of effective abatement of pollution, conservation and rejuvenation of National River Ganga.

Compound annual growth rate of 63.44% has been observed in release/ expenditure by Government of India to National Mission for Clean Ganga (NMCG) under NGP during 2014-15 to 2017-18. Total amount of Rs. 6,131.22 crore was released/ expenditure incurred by Government of India to NMCG under NGP from June 2014 to November 2018.

Release/ Expenditure by Government of India was Rs. 326 crore to NMCG under NGP in 2014-15. It has increased by 400.61% to Rs. 1,632 crore during 2015-16 over 2014-15. We have seen annual decline of -15.03% in release/ expenditure by Government of India to NMCG under NGP to Rs. 1,423.22 crore during 2017-18 against Rs. 1,675 crore during 2016-17. Amount of Rs. 1,075 crore was released/ expenditure incurred by Government of India to NMCG under NGP in 2018-19 (up to 30th November 2018).
