Registered Motor Vehicles per 100 Kms of Road Length during 2001 to 2015

As on 2001, the number of registered motor vehicles and road length was 54991 thousand and 3373520 Kms respectively. Hence the number of registered motor vehicles per 100 Kms of road length was 1630 as on 2001. The number of registered motor vehicles had increased by 3933 thousand to 58924 thousand as on 2002. The road length had also increased by 53080 Kms to 3426600 Kms as on 2002. So as on 2002, the number of registered motor vehicles per 100 Kms of road length was 1720.

As on 2014, the number of registered motor vehicles and road length was 190704 thousand and 5381172 Kms respectively. Hence the number of registered motor vehicles per 100 Kms of road length was 3544 as on 2014. The number of registered motor vehicles had increased by 19319 thousand to 210023 thousand as on 2015. The road length had also increased by 57878 Kms to 5439050 Kms as on 2015. So as on 2015, the number of registered motor vehicles per 100 Kms of road length was 3861.

Maximum of 19319 thousand more motor vehicles registered in 2015 during the period from 2002 to 2015. Maximum of 366528 kms of road length added in 2013 during the period from 2002 to 2015. We have observed an increase of 2.37 times in number of registered motor vehicles per 100 Kms of road length as on 2015 as compared to as on 2001.
