Principal Commodity-wise Traffic handled at Kolkata and Haldia Ports from 2000-01 to 2013-14

The total traffic handled at Kolkata and Haldia Ports of Iron Ore was 374 thousand tonnes in 2000-01. The total traffic handled at Kolkata and Haldia Ports of Iron Ore was 1780 thousand tonnes in 2001-02. There was an absolute growth of 1406 thousand tonnes in 2001-02 (375.9%) as compared to 2000-01. The total traffic handled at Kolkata and Haldia Ports of Iron Ore was 1873 thousand tonnes in 2012-13. The total traffic handled at Kolkata and Haldia Ports of Iron Ore was 2349 thousand tonnes in 2013-14.There was an absolute growth of 476 thousand tonnes in 2013-14 (25.4%) as compared to 2012-13.

The total traffic handled at Kolkata and Haldia Ports of Coal was 8006 thousand tonnes in 2000-01. The total traffic handled at Kolkata and Haldia Ports of Coal was 7369 thousand tonnes in 2001-02. There was an absolute decline of -637 thousand tonnes in 2001-02 (-8%) as compared to 2000-01. The total traffic handled at Kolkata and Haldia Ports of Coal was 6488 thousand tonnes in 2012-13. The total traffic handled at Kolkata and Haldia Ports of Coal was 7421 thousand tonnes in 2013-14.There was an absolute growth of 933 thousand tonnes in 2013-14 (14.4%) as compared to 2012-13.

The total traffic handled at Kolkata and Haldia Ports of Containers was 2817 thousand tonnes in 2000-01. The total traffic handled at Kolkata and Haldia Ports of Containers was 2934 thousand tonnes in 2001-02. There was an absolute growth of -117 thousand tonnes in 2001-02 (4.2%) as compared to 2000-01. The total traffic handled at Kolkata and Haldia Ports of Containers 9829 thousand tonnes in 2012-13. The total traffic handled at Kolkata and Haldia Ports of Containers was 9293 thousand tonnes in 2013-14. There was an absolute decline of -536 thousand tonnes in 2013-14 (-5.5%) as compared to 2012-13.
