Primary Schools having Kitchen-Shed (Government and Aided Managements)

India witnessed an increasing trend in the percentage of Government and Aided Management primary schools having Kitchen-Shed. In 2010-11, 46.46% primary schools had kitchen-sheds across India, while there were 62.64% such schools in 2012-13.

Mizoram had highest percentage of primary schools with kitchen-sheds (92.41%) in 2012-13, as comparison to other states followed by 67.58% in 2010-11. The lowest percentage was observed in Goa (0%) in 2012-13, as comparison to other states followed by 1.04% in 2010-11.

Nineteen States viz. Andaman & Nicobar, Andhra Pradesh, Arunachal Pradesh, Bihar, Chandigarh, Dadra & Nagar Haveli, Delhi, Goa, Haryana, Jammu & Kashmir, Jharkhand, Karnataka, Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra, Manipur, Meghalaya, Odisha, Puducherry and Tripura were below the National estimate (62.64%) in 2012-13.
