Plan-wise Progress of Expenditure for Central Scientific Departments (9th Plan to 12th Plan)

DAE (R and D Sector) had an outlay of Rs. 1500 crores during the period of 9th Plan (1997-2002). It increased to Rs. 19878 crores during the period of 12th Plan (2012-17) showing an absolute growth of Rs. 18378 crores (1225.2%) between 9th Five Year Plan and 12th Five Year Plan. DAE (R and D Sector) had 16.51% share in the total outlay of Rs. 120430 crores for the 6 Central Scientific Departments.

MoES had an outlay of Rs. 510.62 crores during the period of 9th Plan (1997-2002). It increased to Rs. 9506 crores during the period of 12th Plan (2012-17) showing an absolute growth of Rs. 8995.38 crores (1761.66%) with 7.89% share in the total outlay.DST had an outlay of Rs. 1497.35 crores during the period of 9th Plan (1997-2002). It increased to Rs. 21596 crores during the period of 12th Plan (2012-17) showing an absolute growth of Rs. 20098.65 crores (1342.28%) with 17.93% share in the total outlay.

DBT had an outlay of Rs. 675 crores during the period of 9th Plan (1997-2002). It increased to Rs. 11804 crores during the period of 12th Plan (2012-17) showing an absolute growth of Rs. 11129 crores (1648.74%) with 9.8% share in the total outlay.DSIR/CSIR had an outlay of Rs. 1327.48 crores during the period of 9th Plan (1997-2002). It increased to Rs. 17896 crores during the period of 12th Plan (2012-17) showing an absolute growth of Rs. 16568.52 crores (1248.12%) with 14.86% share in the total outlay.DOS had an outlay of Rs. 6511.72 crores during the period of 9th Plan (1997-2002). It increased to Rs. 39750 crores during the period of 12th Plan (2012-17) showing an absolute growth of Rs. 33238.28 crores (510.44%) with 33.01% share (maximum) in the total outlay.
