Persons Injured in Road Accidents in India from 2000 to 2017

Total number of persons injured in India was 405216 during 2001, up by 149 basis points versus 399265 during 2000. Annual growth of 6.71% has been observed in persons injured in India to 496481 during 2006 against 465282 during 2005. Total number of persons injured in India was 527512 during 2010. It has decreased by -3.06% to 511394 in 2011 over 2010. We have seen annual decline of -1.13% in persons injured in India during 2016 from 500279 during 2015. Total number of persons injured in India was 470975 during 2017, down by -4.78% against 494624 during 2016.

During the last 5 years from 2013 to 2017, maximum annual growth of 1.38% found in 2015 and maximum annual de-growth of -4.78% found in 2017 in persons injured in India.

The number of persons injured per lakh of population was 39.4 in India during 2001, up by 0.1 point versus 39.3 during 2000. Annual increase of 2.1 point has been observed in persons injured per lakh of population in India to 44.6 during 2006 against 42.5 during 2005. The number of persons injured per lakh of population was 44.8 in India during 2010. It has decreased by -2.5 point to 42.3 in 2011 over 2010. We have seen annual decline of -0.9 in persons injured per lakh of population in India during 2016 from 39.9 during 2015. The number of persons injured per lakh of population was 36.7 in India during 2017, down by -2.3 point against 39 during 2016.
