Person-days employment generated under Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Act (MGNREGA) during 2010-11 to 2012-13

Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Act (MGNREGA) was notified on 7 September 2005 and launched in February 2006. Total Person-days employment generated under MGNREGA in all the States and UTs of India (except Delhi NCT) was 25368 Lakhs during the Financial Year 2010-11 (P). It was 21634 Lakhs during the Financial Year 2011-12 (P) and was 22665 Lakhs during the Financial Year 2012-13 (P).

In case of the Scheduled Castes (SC) Category, the total Person-days employment generated under MNREGA in all the States and UTs of India (except Delhi NCT) was 7764 Lakhs during the Financial Year 2010-11 (P). It was 4770 Lakhs during the Financial Year 2011-12 (P) and was 4858 Lakhs during the Financial Year 2012-13 (P).

In case of the Scheduled Tribes (ST) Category, the total Person-days employment generated under MGNREGA in all the States and UTs of India (except Delhi NCT) was 5240 Lakhs during the Financial Year 2010-11 (P). It was 3959 Lakhs during the Financial Year 2011-12 (P) and was 3936 Lakhs during the Financial Year 2012-13 (P).

The top 5 States, where the maximum number of Person-days employment was generated under MGNREGA, during the Financial Year 2012-13 are: Tamil Nadu (4081 Lakhs), Andhra Pradesh (3181 Lakhs), and Rajasthan (2203 Lakhs), West Bengal (2002 Lakhs) and Uttar Pradesh (1404 Lakhs).
