India has witnessed an increasing trend in percentage of households having access to toilet facility in rural areas from 2015-16 to 2019-20.
The percentage of households having access to toilet facility in rural areas in India was 50.9% during 2015-16. It has increased by 12.12% to 63.02% during 2016-17 above 2015-16. We have seen annual growth of 18.52% in percentage of households having access to toilet facility in rural areas in India during 2018-19 from 80.51% during 2017-18. The percentage of households having access to toilet facility in rural areas in India was 100% during 2019-20, up by 97 basis points versus 99.03% during 2018-19.
The maximum annual growth of 18.52% has been observed in 2018-19 in percentage of households having access to toilet facility in rural areas in India during the period under consideration.
