Number of Convicts of Robbery in 2013

The total number of convicts of robbery in India during 2013 (at the end of the year) was 2280. The number of male convicts of robbery was 2232 while the number of female convicts of robbery was 48. Robbery is committed by upto 4 persons, while dacoity is committed by 5 or more persons.

The top 10 States/UTs with the highest number of convicts of robbery in 2013 were: Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, Tamil Nadu, Maharashtra, Haryana, Punjab, Kerala, Delhi, Rajasthan and Chhattisgarh. The top 5 States accounted for 49.47% of total number of convicts of robbery in India during 2013 (at the end of the year).

Uttar Pradesh had 322 convicts of robbery in 2013, which was 14.12% of total convicts of robbery in India. The number of male convicts of robbery was 321 while the number of female convicts of robbery was 1. Madhya Pradesh had 262 convicts of robbery in 2013, which was 11.49% of total convicts of robbery in India. The number of male convicts of robbery was 262 while the number of female convicts of robbery was 0. Tamil Nadu had 196 convicts of robbery in 2013, which was 8.6% of total convicts of robbery in India. The number of male convicts of robbery was 195 while the number of female convicts of robbery was 1. Maharashtra had 192 convicts of robbery in 2013, which was 8.42% of total convicts of robbery in India. The number of male convicts of robbery was 158 while the number of female convicts of robbery was 34. Haryana had 156 convicts of robbery in 2013, which was 6.84% of total convicts of robbery in India. The number of male convicts of robbery was 156 while the number of female convicts of robbery was 0.

Arunachal Pradesh, Manipur, Mizoram, Sikkim, Andaman and Nicobar Islands, Dadra and Nagar Haveli, Daman and Diu, Lakshadweep and Pondicherry had no convict of robbery in 2013.
