Net Revenue Receipts and Ratio to Capital at Charge of Railway from 2000-01 to 2013-14

The Net Revenue Receipts of Railways was Rs. 1071.2 crores during the year 2000-01. The Ratio of Net Revenue to Capital at Charge of Railways was 2.49% during the year 2000-01. These peaked at Rs. 18334 crores and 24.86% respectively during the year 2007-08 in the period under consideration i.e. 2000-01 to 2013-14.

The Net Revenue Receipts of Railways was Rs. 2337.5 crores during the year 2001-02. It increased by 1266.3 crores as compared to the year 2000-01. In percentage terms, the growth was 118.21% during the period. The Ratio of Net Revenue to Capital at Charge of Railways was 4.96% during the year 2001-02. It increased by 2.47 percentage points as compared to the year 2000-01.

The Net Revenue Receipts of Railways was Rs. 8005.9 crores during the year 2005-06. It increased by 5668.4 crores as compared to the year 2001-02. In percentage terms, the growth was 242.5% during the period. The Ratio of Net Revenue to Capital at Charge of Railways was 12.15% during the year 2005-06. It increased by 7.19 percentage points as compared to the year 2001-02.

The Net Revenue Receipts of Railways was Rs. 1284.7 crores during the year 2010-11. It decreased by -6721.2 crores as compared to the year 2005-06. In percentage terms, the decline was -83.95% during the period. The Ratio of Net Revenue to Capital at Charge of Railways was 3.75% during the year 2010-11. It decreased by -8.4 percentage points as compared to the year 2005-06.

The Net Revenue Receipts of Railways was Rs. 2511.6 crores during the year 2013-14. It increased by 1226.9 crores as compared to the year 2010-11. In percentage terms, the growth was 95.5% during the period. The Ratio of Net Revenue to Capital at Charge of Railways was 5.63% during the year 2013-14. It increased by 1.88 percentage points as compared to the year 2010-11.
