There were 5979 medium enterprises registered on Udyog Aadhaar Memorandum (UAM) portal in India during 2017-18 (as on 8.3.2018), down by -30.07% versus 8550 during 2016-17. The top 5 States/UTs with respect to medium enterprises registered on UAM portal in India during 2017-18 (as on 8.3.2018) were Maharashtra, Gujarat, Tamil Nadu, Karnataka and Uttar Pradesh.
The number of medium enterprises registered on UAM portal was 1209 from Maharashtra during 2017-18, which accounted 20.22% of the total medium enterprises registered on UAM portal in India. It has decreased by -20.77% during 2017-18 from 1526 during 2016-17. We have seen decline of -22.37% in registration of medium enterprises on UAM portal from Gujarat to 937 enterprises during 2017-18 against 1207 during 2016-17. It accounted 15.67% of the total medium enterprises registered on UAM portal in India during 2017-18. There were 521 medium enterprises from Tamil Nadu, registered on UAM portal during 2017-18; which accounted 8.71% of the total medium enterprises registered on UAM portal in India. It has decreased by -33.12% during 2017-18 from 779 during 2016-17.
The number of medium enterprises registered on UAM portal was 416 and 414 from Karnataka and Uttar Pradesh respectively during 2017-18. Karnataka accounted for 6.96% and Uttar Pradesh accounted for 6.92% of the total medium enterprises registered on UAM portal in India during 2017-18.
These above mentioned top 5 states accounted for 58.49% of the total medium enterprises registered on UAM portal in India as a whole during 2017-18 (as on 8.3.2018).
