The Total Unloaded traffic handled at Mumbai port in 1953-54 was 4958 Thousand Tonnes. The Total Loaded traffic handled at Mumbai port in 1953-54 was 1983 Thousand Tonnes. The Total Unloaded traffic handled at Mumbai port in 1960-61 was 10720 Thousand Tonnes. It recorded 116.22% growth as compared to 1953-54. The Total Loaded traffic handled at Mumbai port in 1960-61 was 3629 Thousand Tonnes. It recorded 83.01% growth as compared to 1953-54.

The Total Unloaded traffic handled at Mumbai port in 1970-71 was 10973 Thousand Tonnes. It recorded 2.36% growth as compared to 1960-61. The Total Loaded traffic handled at Mumbai port in 1970-71 was 3397 Thousand Tonnes. It recorded -6.39% decline as compared to 1960-61. The Total Unloaded traffic handled at Mumbai port in 1980-81 was 13209 Thousand Tonnes. It recorded 20.38% growth as compared to 1970-71. The Total Loaded traffic handled at Mumbai port in 1980-81 was 3769 Thousand Tonnes. It recorded 10.95% growth as compared to 1970-71.
