Investments Made by Foreign Portfolio Investors (FPIs) in India during 2015

In the month of January 2015, the investment made by Foreign Portfolio Investors (FPIs) in India was $ 5452.88 million. In the month of February 2015, the investment made by FPIs in India was $ 3965.6 million. It recorded a decline of $ -1487.28 million over the month of January 2015. In the month of March 2015, the investment made by FPIs in India was $ 3337.01 million. It recorded a decline of $ -628.59 million over the month of February 2015.

In the month of April 2015, the investment made by FPIs in India was $ 2440.8 million. It recorded a decline of $ -896.21 million over the month of March 2015. In the month of May 2015, the investment by FPIs in India was $ -2234.5 million (Negative Outflows i.e. FPIs sold off more existing investments in India than the fresh investments they made in this month). It recorded a total net decline of $ -4675.3 million as compared to the month of April 2015. In the month of June 2015, the investment by FPIs in India was $ -249.65 million (Negative Outflows), showing a consecutive decline on top of the decline in the month of May 2015.

In the month of July 2015, the investment made by FPIs in India was $ 842.17 million. It recorded a growth of $ 1091.82 million over the month of June 2015. In the month of August 2015, the investment by FPIs in India was $ -2645.19 million (Negative Outflows). It recorded a total net decline of $ -3487.36 million over the month of July 2015. In the month of September 2015, the investment made by FPIs in India was $ -873.55 million (Negative Outflows), showing a consecutive decline on top of the decline in the month of August 2015.

In the month of October 2015, the investment made by FPIs in India was $ 3443.87 million. It recorded a growth of $ 4317.42 million over the month of September 2015. In the month of November 2015, the investment made by FPIs in India was $ -1640.92 million (Negative Outflows). It recorded a total net decline of $ -5084.79 million over the month of October 2015. In the month of December 2015, the investment made by FPIs in India was $ -1242.86 million (Negative Outflows), showing a consecutive decline on top of the decline in the month of November 2015.

The maximum investment made by FPIs in India in the calendar year 2015 i.e. $ 5452.88 million was recorded in the month of January 2015. The maximum monthly growth in investment made by FPIs in India i.e. $ 4317.42 million was recorded in the month of October 2015.

During the period of twelve months from January 2015 to December 2015, the monthly investment made by FPIs in India varied between $ -2645.19 million (Negative Outflows) in August 2015 to 5452.88 million in January 2015. During the period of twelve months from January 2015 to December 2015, the standard deviation of monthly investment made by FPIs in India was $2744 million.
