Import of Ships, Tankers and Dredgers during 2012-13 to 2015-16

India has a growing shipping sector, which plays a very important role in its economy particularly in the area of foreign trade. India imports various types of sea vessels to cater to the needs of this important sector.

The import of Ships was worth 328042560 US dollar in 2012-13. The import of Ships was worth 188393305 in 2013-14. It recorded an annual decrease of -42.57% as compared to 2012-13. The import of Ships was worth 129366210 in 2014-15. It recorded an annual decrease of -31.33% as compared to 2013-14. The import of Ships was worth 55931119 in 2015-16. It recorded an annual decrease of -56.77% as compared to 2014-15.

The import of Tankers was worth 8900482 US dollar in 2012-13. The import of Tankers was worth 271178068 in 2013-14. It recorded an annual growth of 2946.78% as compared to 2012-13. The import of Tankers was worth 187222040 in 2014-15. It recorded an annual decrease of -30.96% as compared to 2013-14. The import of Tankers was worth 299184611 in 2015-16. It recorded an annual growth of 59.8% as compared to 2014-15.

The import of Dredgers was worth 331603276 US dollar in 2012-13. The import of Dredgers was worth 1261649418 in 2013-14. It recorded an annual growth of 280.47% as compared to 2012-13. The import of Dredgers was worth 118898414 in 2014-15. It recorded an annual decrease of -90.58% as compared to 2013-14. The import of Dredgers was worth 289786804 in 2015-16. It recorded an annual growth of 143.73% as compared to 2014-15.
