Groundnut Production of Various States in 2015-16

The groundnut production in India was 7180.5 thousand tonnes in 2015-16. It decreased by -221.2 thousand tonnes as compared to the groundnut production of 7401.7 thousand tonnes in the year 2014-15. Thus, the annual decrease recorded in the year 2015-16 was -2.99%. There were 9 States having groundnut production of more than 100 thousand tonnes viz. Gujarat, Rajasthan, Tamil Nadu, Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka, Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra, West Bengal and Telangana in 2015-16.

The groundnut production in Gujarat was 2892 thousand tonnes in 2015-16. It decreased by -126 thousand tonnes as compared to the groundnut production of 3018 thousand tonnes in the year 2014-15. Thus, the annual decrease recorded in the year 2015-16 was -4.17%.

The groundnut production in Rajasthan was 1041.1 thousand tonnes in 2015-16. It increased by 29.9 thousand tonnes as compared to the groundnut production of 1011.2 thousand tonnes in the year 2014-15. Thus, the annual growth recorded in the year 2015-16 was 2.96%. The groundnut production in Tamil Nadu was 894.9 thousand tonnes in 2015-16. It decreased by -31.5 thousand tonnes as compared to the groundnut production of 926.4 thousand tonnes in the year 2014-15. Thus, the annual decrease recorded in the year 2015-16 was -3.4%.

The groundnut production in Andhra Pradesh was 788 thousand tonnes in 2015-16. It increased by 295 thousand tonnes as compared to the groundnut production of 493 thousand tonnes in the year 2014-15. Thus, the annual growth recorded in the year 2015-16 was 59.84%. The groundnut production in Karnataka was 381.4 thousand tonnes in 2015-16. It decreased by -120.6 thousand tonnes as compared to the groundnut production of 502 thousand tonnes in the year 2014-15. Thus, the annual decrease recorded in the year 2015-16 was -24.02%.

The groundnut production in Madhya Pradesh was 312 thousand tonnes in 2015-16. It decreased by -58 thousand tonnes as compared to the groundnut production of 370 thousand tonnes in the year 2014-15. Thus, the annual decrease recorded in the year 2015-16 was -15.68%. The groundnut production in Maharashtra was 278.8 thousand tonnes in 2015-16. It decreased by -100.2 thousand tonnes as compared to the groundnut production of 379 thousand tonnes in the year 2014-15. Thus, the annual decrease recorded in the year 2015-16 was -26.44%.

The groundnut production in West Bengal was 199.9 thousand tonnes in 2015-16. It increased by 20 thousand tonnes as compared to the groundnut production of 179.9 thousand tonnes in the year 2014-15. Thus, the annual growth recorded in the year 2015-16 was 11.12%. The groundnut production in Telangana was 182 thousand tonnes in 2015-16. It decreased by -114 thousand tonnes as compared to the groundnut production of 296 thousand tonnes in the year 2014-15. Thus, the annual decrease recorded in the year 2015-16 was -38.51%.
