Enrolment of students in Fine Arts Discipline during 2012-2013

Fine Arts encompasses subjects such as dancing, design, sculpture, architecture, pottery, interior design, painting, drama and music. Fine Arts essentially is an art form, which includes objects mainly created for concept or aesthetic value rather than utility.

Total Number of students enrolled in fine arts discipline under fine arts group in year 2012-13 was 14449, out of which male students enrolled were 8100 in number, in percentage term it was 56.06% of the total and female students enrolled were 6349 in number i.e. 43.94% of total.

Total Number of students enrolled in Music was 8133, out of which male Students enrolled were 3528, in percentage term it was 43.38% of total and female student enrolled were 4605 in number i.e. 56.62% of the total. Total Number of students enrolled in Performing Arts was 9594, out of which Male Students enrolled were 3412 in number, in percentage term it was 35.56% of total and female student enrolled were 6182 in number i.e. 64.44% of the total.

Similarly, the total students enrolled for Visual Arts were 9926 in number, out of which Male student enrolled were 5308 in number, in percentage term it was 53.48% of total and female students enrolled were 4618 in number i.e. 46.52% of total. Percentage of Male Students enrolled in subjects under Fine Arts Discipline at the highest degree .i.e. PhD level were 2.14% in Fine Arts, 2.13% in Music, 3.55% in Performing Arts, 0.60% in Visual Arts. Similarly, the female Students enrolled in subjects under Fine Arts discipline at PhD Level were 3.24% in Fine Arts, 2.39% in Music, 3.59% in performing arts, 0.76% in Visual Arts.
