Drinking Water Quality Affected Rural Habitations as on 31.03.2016

The total number of drinking water quality affected rural habitations in India, due to various causes like Arsenic, Fluoride, Iron, Nitrate and Salinity,was 59040 as on 31.03.2016. There were 10 states having more than 1000 drinking water supply quality affected rural habitations  viz. Rajasthan, West Bengal, Assam, Odisha, Tripura, Bihar, Punjab, Chhattisgarh, Karnataka and Telangana as on 31.03.2016.

The number of drinking water quality affected rural habitations in Rajasthan was 21234 as on 31.03.2016. It had a share of 35.97% in the total number of drinking water quality affected rural habitations in India as on 31.03.2016. The number of drinking water quality affected rural habitations in West Bengal was 9982 as on 31.03.2016. It had a share of 16.91% in the total number of drinking water quality affected rural habitations in India as on 31.03.2016.

The number of drinking water quality affected rural habitations in Assam was 8714 as on 31.03.2016. It had a share of 14.76% in the total number of drinking water quality affected rural habitations in India as on 31.03.2016. The number of drinking water quality affected rural habitations in Odisha was 4460 as on 31.03.2016. It had a share of 7.55% in the total number of drinking water quality affected rural habitations in India as on 31.03.2016.

The number of drinking water quality affected rural habitations in Tripura was 4043 as on 31.03.2016. It had a share of 6.85% in the total number of drinking water quality affected rural habitations in India as on 31.03.2016. The number of drinking water quality affected rural habitations in Bihar was 2008 as on 31.03.2016. It had a share of 3.4% in the total number of drinking water quality affected rural habitations in India as on 31.03.2016.

The number of drinking water quality affected rural habitations in Punjab was 1827 as on 31.03.2016. It had a share of 3.09% in the total number of drinking water quality affected rural habitations in India as on 31.03.2016. The number of drinking water quality affected rural habitations in Chhattisgarh was 1513 as on 31.03.2016.
