Doctors at Primary Health Centres in March 2015

The number of doctors at Primary Health Centres (PHCs) in India was 27421 in March 2015. There were 11 states having more than 1000 doctors at PHCs viz. Maharashtra, Bihar, Rajasthan, Tamil Nadu, Uttar Pradesh, Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh, Assam, Kerala, Telangana, and Odisha in March 2015.

The number of doctors at PHCs in Maharashtra was 2937 in March 2015. It accounted for 10.71% of the number of doctors at PHCs in India in March 2015.
The number of doctors at PHCs in Bihar was 2521 in March 2015. It accounted for 9.19% of the number of doctors at PHCs in India in March 2015. The number of doctors at PHCs in Rajasthan was 2412 in March 2015. It accounted for 8.8% of the number of doctors at PHCs in India in March 2015.

The number of doctors at PHCs in Tamil Nadu was 2375 in March 2015. It accounted for 8.66% of the number of doctors at PHCs in India in March 2015. The number of doctors at PHCs in Uttar Pradesh was 2209 in March 2015. It accounted for 8.06% of the number of doctors at PHCs in India in March 2015.

The number of doctors at PHCs in Karnataka was 2196 in March 2015 (8.01% of All India). The number of doctors at PHCs in Andhra Pradesh was 1412 in March 2015 (5.15% of All India). The number of doctors at PHCs in Assam was 1355 in March 2015 (4.94% of All India).

The number of doctors at PHCs in Kerala was 1169 in March 2015 (4.26% of All India). The number of doctors at PHCs in Telangana was 1024 in March 2015 (3.73% of All India). The number of doctors at PHCs in Odisha was 1008 in March 2015 (3.68% of All India).
