Diammonium Phosphate (DAP) is most widely used phosphorus fertilizer in the world. DAP is a balanced fertilizer. Most common commercial fertilizers contain phosphate, which is an essential nutrient for stimulating root growth and plant health. DAP is made from two common constituents in the fertilizer industry – manufactured by reacting phosphoric acid and ammonia and contains two ammonia molecules. In alkaline soil conditions, one of the ammonia molecules in DAP will revert to ammonia, making it an excellent fit for low pH or alkaline soil. It is popular because of its relatively high nutrient content and its excellent physical properties.

The production of Diammonium Phosphate (DAP) in India was 146.5 thousand metric tonnes in the month of April, 2015.

The production of DAP in India was 280.3 thousand metric tonnes in the month of May, 2015. It increased by 133.8 thousand metric tonnes as compared to the month of April, 2015. In percentage terms, the growth was 91.33% during the period April, 2015 – May, 2015.
