Death in Road Accident by Bus during 2014

In India, 10537 persons died in bus accidents during 2014. In some of states, accidents happened mostly because of worst conditions of road or hill regions but mindset of people is also responsible for unexpected/expected accidents. Visualization is giving the insights of accidents happened by bus in Indian States/UTs during 2014.

Major states where victim died in bus accidents in large scale were Tamil Nadu, Uttar Pradesh, Karnataka, Rajasthan and Maharashtra. In Tamil Nadu, 1677 persons died that was 15.9% of India during 2014. In Uttar Pradesh, 1457 persons died that was 13.8% of India during 2014. In Karnataka, 813 persons died that was 7.7% of India during 2014. In Rajasthan, 692 persons died that was 6.6% of India during 2014. In Maharashtra, 573 persons died that was 5.4% of India during 2014.

States/UTs where fewer victims died in bus accidents during 2014 were Nagaland, Andaman & Nicobar Islands, Daman & Diu, Sikkim and Lakshadweep. Nagaland, Andaman and Nicobar Islands and Daman & Diu accounted for 1 victim each. In Sikkim and Lakshadweep 0 victims died in bus accidents during 2014.
