Datasets on MSME registered Units under UDYAM Scheme

Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSME) primarily engages in the production, manufacturing, processing, preservation of goods and commodities. MSME is an important sector contributes immensely to country’s socio-economic growth of a country. The sector not only generates employment opportunities but also works hand-in-hand towards the development of the nation’s backward and rural areas.

The sector has grown steadily over the years, and recently (since 1st July 2020) the Ministry of Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises replaced the process of filing of Udyog Aadhaar Memorandum, by UDYAM registration portal

The Ministry has shared UDYAM data through webservice at Open Government Data Platform India. The datasets give us details of every MSME enterprise registered at district level along with address, pin code and other details such as activity in which the enterprise is involved, the investment cost, the net turnover, total number of employees working etc. The Datasets are available as JSON files with a facility to convert them to other machine-readable formats such as XML, CSV, XLS, etc. These are also accessible as APIs.

These datasets are highly potential in creating innovative applications, data-driven decision making, product planning, business to business (B2B) activities, etc.
