We have seen compound annual growth rate of 2.76% in consumption of total middle distillate petroleum products during 2011-12 to 2017-18. Consumption of total middle distillate petroleum products was 93526 thousand tonnes during 2017-18, up by 5.04% against 89042 thousand tonnes during 2016-17. Midddle distillate petroleum products namely Superior Kerosene Oil (SKO), Aviation Turbine Fuel (ATF), High Speed Diesel Oil (HSDO), Light Diesel Oil (LDO) and others were consumed during 2011-12 to 2017-18. Out of total consumption of middle distillate petroleum products during 2017-18; SKO, ATF, HSDO, LDO and others petroleum products had weight of 4.11%, 8.15%, 86.68%, 0.56% and 0.49% respectively.

Consumption of SKO products was 5397 thousand tonnes in 2016-17. It has decreased by -28.76% to 3845 thousand tonnes during 2017-18 above 2016-17. We have seen annual growth of 8.93% in consumption of ATF products from 6998 thousand tonnes during 2016-17 to 7623 thousand tonnes during 2017-18. Consumption of HSDO products was 81073 thousand tonnes during 2017-18, up by 6.64% against 76027 thousand tonnes during 2016-17.

Annual growth of 16.7% has been observed in consumption of LDO products from 449 thousand tonnes during 2016-17 to 524 thousand tonnes during 2017-18. Consumption of other middle distillate petroleum products was 172 thousand tonnes in 2016-17. It has increased by 168.02% to 461 thousand tonnes during 2017-18 above 2016-17.
