Consumption and Consumption by Demand During 1999-2013

During 1999-2013, consumption as a percentage of GDP declined by 15.5% from 79.4 in 1999 to 67.1 in 2012-13.
During this period Consumption by Demand, Private Consumption by Demand and Public Consumption by Demand grew by average annual growth rates of 6.11%, 6.11% and 6.21% respectively, the financial year 2007-08 witnessed highest yoy growths in Consumption by Demand (9.3%), Private Consumption by Demand (9.2%) and Public Consumption by Demand(9.6%). During 1999-2013, lowest yoy growth in Consumption by Demand (2.3%) was observed in 2002-03 and 2004-05, lowest yoy growth in Private Consumption by Demand (2.1%) was observed in 2004-05. 2002-03 witnessed declination (-0.4%) in Public Consumption by Demand.
