Capacity v/s Production of Crude Steel by Public Sector in India from 2013-14 to 2018-19

Capacity of crude steel production by public sector was 15,929 tonne in India during 2013-14. It has increased by 28.25% to 20,429 tonne during 2014-15 above 2013-14. We have seen annual growth of 6.77% in capacity of crude steel production by public sector in India to 25,432 tonne during 2018-19 against 23,819 tonne during 2017-18.

Production of crude steel by public sector was 16,778 tonne in India during 2013-14. It has increased by 2.54% to 17,205 tonne during 2014-15 above 2013-14. The capacity utilisation in crude steel production by public sector was 105.3% in 2013-14 and 84.2% in 2014-15. Annual growth of 7.03% has been observed in crude steel production by public sector in India during 2017-18 from 18,456 tonne during 2016-17. Production of crude steel by public sector was 21,496 tonne in India during 2018-19, up by 8.82% versus 19,753 tonne during 2017-18. The capacity utilisation in crude steel production by public sector was 82.9% and 84.5% in India during 2017-18 and 2018-19 respectively.
