Average Monthly Wholesale Price of Sesamum (Kharif Crop) from October-2017 to November-2018

The prices of agricultural product including pulses and oilseeds are determined by supply and demand conditions in the market on a day-to-day basis. Apart from demand and supply conditions, availability of stocks and international prices are also affecting prices of agricultural product.

The average monthly wholesale price of Sesamum was Rs. 7,281 per quintal in October, 2017. It has increased by 5.88% to Rs. 7,709 per quintal during November-2017 above October-2017. We have seen monthly growth of 4.23% in average monthly wholesale price of Sesamum from Rs. 8,148 per quintal during July-2018 to Rs. 8,493 per quintal during August-2018. The average monthly wholesale price of Sesamum was Rs. 10,645 per quintal during November-2018, up by 5.99% from Rs. 10,043 per quintal during October-2018.

Maximum monthly growth of 16.05% has been observed in average wholesale price of Sesamum in October-2018 during the period under consideration. Maximum monthly average wholesale price of Sesamum of Rs. 10,645 per quintal has been found in November-2018 during October-2017 to November-2018.
