The prices of agricultural product including pulses and oilseeds are determined by supply and demand conditions in the market on a day-to-day basis. Apart from demand and supply conditions, availability of stocks and international prices are also affecting prices of agricultural product.
The average monthly wholesale price of Jowar was Rs. 2039 per quintal in October-2017. It has increased by 7.6% to Rs. 2194 per quintal during December-2017 above October-2017. We have observed monthly growth of 13 basis points in average monthly wholesale price of Jowar from Rs. 2195 per quintal during Jul-2018 to Rs. 2198 per quintal during Aug-2018. The average monthly wholesale price of Jowar was Rs. 2561 per quintal during November-2018, up by 10.39% against Rs. 2320 per quintal during October-2018.
Maximum monthly average wholesale price of Jowar of Rs. 2561 per quintal has been observed in Nov-2018 during the period under consideration. Minimum monthly average wholesale price of Jowar of Rs. 2039 per quintal has been found in Oct-2017 during the period under consideration.
