Annual Rainfall in Lakshadweep Subdivision from 1951 to 2017

Clear trend is not visible in annual rainfall in Lakshadweep subdivision during 1951 to 2017. Annual rainfall of 1715.3 mms was there in Lakshadweep subdivision during 1951. It has decreased by -34.44% to 1124.5 mms during 1952 over 1951. Annual growth of 62 basis points has been observed in annual rainfall in Lakshadweep subdivision from 1372.1 mms during 2000 to 1380.6 mms during 2001. Annual rainfall in Lakshadweep subdivision was 1738.9 mms during 2017, up by 63.17% against 1065.7 mms during 2016.

Maximum annual rainfall of 2361.6 mms has been seen in 2007 in Lakshadweep subdivision during the period under consideration. Minimum annual rainfall of 992.6 mms has been observed in 1958 in Lakshadweep subdivision during the period under consideration. In Lakshadweep subdivision, maximum annual rainfall of 1738.9 mms has been found in 2017 and minimum annual rainfall of 1065.7 mms has been observed in 2016 during the last 10 years from 2008 to 2017.

In Lakshadweep subdivision, highest monthly rainfall for the month of ‘June’ has been found during the year 1952, 1954, 1955, 1956, 1957, 1958, 1959, 1961, 1972, 1977, 1978, 1980, 1981, 1984, 1985, 1986, 1987, 1988, 1989, 1991, 1994, 1996, 2001, 2002, 2007, 2009, 2013, 2015, 2016 and 2017. In Lakshadweep subdivision, maximum monthly rainfall for the month of ‘July’ has been found during the year 1951, 1953, 1963, 1964, 1966, 1967, 1968, 1970, 1974, 1979, 1990, 1993, 1995, 1997, 1998, 1999, 2003, 2005, 2008, 2010 and 2011.
