The total number of accounts opened in rural areas under Pradhan Mantri Jan-Dhan Yojana (PMJDY) upto 27.04.2016 by Public Sector Banks was 95192409 which was 55.85% of total number of accounts opened under PMJDY by Public Sector Banks i.e. 170431139 upto 27.04.2016 in the entire country. The total number of accounts opened in urban areas under PMJDY upto 27.04.2016 by Public Sector Banks was 75238730 which was 44.15% of total number of accounts opened under PMJDY by Public Sector Banks i.e. 170431139 upto 27.04.2016 in the entire country.
The total number of accounts opened in rural areas under Pradhan Mantri Jan-Dhan Yojana (PMJDY) upto 27.04.2016 by Regional Rural Banks was 32916141 which was 85.89% of total number of accounts opened under PMJDY by Regional Rural Banks i.e. 38324251 upto 27.04.2016 in the entire country. The total number of accounts opened in urban areas under PMJDY upto 27.04.2016 by Regional Rural Banks was 5408110 which was 14.11% of total number of accounts opened under PMJDY by Regional Rural Banks i.e. 38324251 upto 27.04.2016 in the entire country.

The total number of accounts opened in urban areas under PMJDY upto 27.04.2016 by Private Banks was 3072318 which was 38.42% of total number of accounts opened under PMJDY by Private Banks i.e. 7997133 upto 27.04.2016 in the entire country.
