The total number of accounts opened in rural areas under Pradhan Mantri Jan-Dhan Yojana (PMJDY) as on 27.01.2016 by Public Sector Banks was 89537898 which was 55.67% of total number of accounts opened under PMJDY by Public Sector Banks i.e. 160835981 as on 27.01.2016 in the entire country. The total number of accounts opened in urban areas under PMJDY as on 27.01.2016 by Public Sector Banks was 71298083 which was 44.33% of total number of accounts opened under PMJDY by Public Sector Banks i.e. 160835981 as on 27.01.2016 in the entire country.
The total number of accounts opened in rural areas under Pradhan Mantri Jan-Dhan Yojana (PMJDY) as on 27.01.2016 by Regional Rural Banks was 31248470 which was 85.84% of total number of accounts opened under PMJDY by Regional Rural Banks i.e. 36401999 as on 27.01.2016 in the entire country. The total number of accounts opened in urban areas under PMJDY as on 27.01.2016 by Regional Rural Banks was 5153529 which was 14.16% of total number of accounts opened under PMJDY by Regional Rural Banks i.e. 36401999 as on 27.01.2016 in the entire country.
