Accidental deaths by Falls during 2014

The total number of accidental deaths by falls in India was 15399 during 2014. The top 10 states/UTs in terms of accidental deaths by falls in India during 2014 were: Maharashtra, Gujarat, Tamil Nadu, Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan, Kerala, Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, Uttar Pradesh and Karnataka.

The total number of accidental deaths by falls in Maharashtra was 2938 during 2014, which was 19.08% of the total number of accidental deaths by falls in India during the year. The total number of accidental deaths by falls in Gujarat was 1788 during 2014, which was 11.61% of the total number of accidental deaths by falls in India during the year. The total number of accidental deaths by falls in Tamil Nadu was 1306 during 2014, which was 8.48% of the total number of accidental deaths by falls in India during the year.

The total number of accidental deaths by falls in Madhya Pradesh was 1174 during 2014, which was 7.62% of the total number of accidental deaths by falls in India during the year. The total number of accidental deaths by falls in Rajasthan was 1119 during 2014, which was 7.27% of the total number of accidental deaths by falls in India during the year. In fact, these top 5 states accounted for more than half i.e. 54.06% of the total number of accidental deaths by falls in India during 2014.
